My friend hits 100

Posted: Tuesday, October 2, 2012 5:04 pm

She is remarkable, amazing and awesome, using only a few adjectives that could describe this woman.

Oct. 2 was the magic day and my friend Edith Gissendanner, of Crossville, turned 100 years old. Edith was born and reared in Adamsburg and came to Crossville in the mid-1930s to teach. It was here that she met the love of her life and they reared four children. She has one grandchild.
