DeKalb County 20 arrested in local drug roundup

Posted: Wednesday, June 5, 2013 3:55 pm

Sheriff Jimmy Harris and Fort Payne police Chief Randy Bynum report the arrest of several individuals on a multitude of drug charges after concluding the first phase of a several months long investigation into drug trafficking in DeKalb County.

Members of the DeKalb County Drug Task Force were in the process late Wednesday of serving warrants on 32 individuals from across the county in an effort to stem the illegal sale of drugs. Officials said the increased misuse of prescription pills was being addressed in the operation as they tried to arrest the street dealers in the distribution network.
