Homestead exemption confusing to some

The Alabama Legislature has created some confusion by closing a tax loophole.

Changes where made to existing property tax exemptions for the disabled and elderly. The new law establishes a more uniform policy but requires all existing homestead exemptions to be recertified.

    It is about time!!!!! Finally a step in the right direction. Make the liars pay up!!!!
    Now if they go after the fraud in food stamps and welfare we will be on the right track!!
    I for one are tried of paying for all the lazy, liars that are receiving benefits that don't deserve it.
