McGill clarifies remarks at prayer breakfast

Posted: Friday, February 3, 2012 4:14 pm

Comments about finding a balance in teacher pay were misunderstood, state Sen. Shadrack McGill said Friday.

McGill, R-Woodville, found himself the target of criticism after saying biblical principles required balance in paying teachers, as well as legislators.

“The wanton ignorance and hate in these comments is a sad commentary on the vocal intellect in this community. God bless America.”
The meaning of ignorance: 1. lack of knowledge or education. 2. unaware of something, often of importance.
If you choose to believe what a Politician who Blasphemed the teachings of the Bible to further their CORRUPT Political Agenda, take a look in the nearest mirror, there you will see the image of the person with Rampant Ignorance, won’t you Independent?

The sad commentary is that an uninformed person would defend the Ignorance of a Politician that has no respect for themeself, their fellow human beings, or the TRUTH, isn’t it Independent?
Using the words, ”God Bless America” usually denotes a person, with no Morals, and No knowledge of the TRUTH, and are seeking to DECEIVE others, with their “Godliness,” and allegiance to a God they have chosen to Blaspheme to sell their Ungodly Political Agenda to people who believe in God, isn’t that the TRUTH Independent?
How pathetic of such a wretched Soul, to Blaspheme the teachings of Christ, and defend a Politician who Blasphemed the teachings of God, in an attempt to DECEIVE others, Independent.

my wife is a school teacher. she ask me if i know what the alabama state nut is .i said no, and she said McGile. sounds like he stuck his foot in his mouth, and is trying to pry it out with the other one.anyone who makes more money a year working very few hours, than a teacher with 15 years and a masters degree, should not talk about raises and being corrupt.its a known fact that politicians, corruption, and bribery go hand in hand.

    • “Since Shad is an honest person it seems that he assumes others are honest and only cheat, steal, and lie because they have to. Poor guy - maybe he will learn better than that soon.”

A wise person told me more than 50 years ago, If, you know an honest person seeking a Political Office vote against them, as in a matter of a few years, they will be as Dishonest as the Politician, they sought to replace. I have found that to be mostly true over the last 50 years, Wildcard.

At the end of this article Mr. McGill is quoted: "I jokingly made a lighthearted comment to Mr. Saffels' question about his retirement 20 years down the road because I do not intend to be in the Legislature 20 years down the road,"

This sums up Mr. McGill's thoughts and opinions of the people he 'serves' completely. It doesn’t matter what bills or laws that Mr. McGill passes NOW that will affect people in 20 years because in 20 years Mr. McGill doesn’t plan to be around to be held accountable for what he's done to the hard working people that he was supposed to be representing.
This man is an embarrassment to our state and to the 'faith' he claims to have.

There is one part of this discussion that I have not seen brought up yet, has Senator McGill never hear of parents bribing teachers for better grades? Was undue parental influence not part of the issue a few months ago concerning the value of parents gifts to teachers?

I am surprised that Shad thinks more pay will help lawmakers stay honest. Most of them would just add additional pay to all the other corrupt and illegal things they are doing. Since Shad is an honest person it seems that he assumes others are honest and only cheat, steal, and lie because they have to. Poor guy - maybe he will learn better than that soon.

The sooner we can vote him out the better. His notion that he needs more pay to stay honest disqualifies him from public service. We need better choices to vote for.

All of his attempts to clarify what we have heard him say on tape is a bunch of nonsense. His so called attempts to talk about balance are off balance. Just another example of a zealot who spoke without considering the consequences but then says that is not what I meant. He said what he meant and meant what he said. If he wants to use the Bible so much in this matter then consider the verse that says from the "abundance of the heart the mouth speaks."

I am horrified! He needs more pay so he stays honest?? There are many people working at far less pay who are not requesting their boss give them a raise so they can stay honest. Honest people are not PAID to be honest; it is their character.

Seems to me he is confusing teachers with politicians. They don't get into politics because they want to serve their constituants - they get into it for the money, favors and perks and their dream to eventually become governer or maybe even president.

In the old days, teachers just had to teach. That is not the case in modern times. I need not list the many other responsibilities that have fallen on their shoulders; you know what they are. I am not a teacher and their is no amount of money that could draw me toward that profession.

Help him stay honest by not voting for him next time. Until that time comes get some duct tape and shut him up so you do not have to be insulted. Also, please tell him he can audition at a comedy club any time where his humor might be taken as that. He is not funny in this arena!
