Wow dirty politics at its finest just so the public and everyone else knows our Mr "Old School" or Carey Baker had some interesting false information and better yet lets move to the best post the one from Rainsvillian better know as Mrs. Taheri "Donna Taheri" the WIFE of Rainsville City Councilman Bejan Taheri come on guys try and run a good campaign don't use your wife to get on a public website and bash the other guy, and to whom it may concern I really don't even have a horse in this race I live outside Rainsville city limits I was just very disturbed to hear about these two people covering their name to bash other candidates.

    Dear Mr. D.L. Stiefel,

I don’t believe that “Old School”  resorted to scare tactics at all, but there IS something scary here…..and that’s the qualifications (or lack of) that your candidate has.

Yes, Mr. Stiefel, we certainly do hope the voters will look at the qualifications of the candidates!

Let’s see…..we have a 20-something year old who just recently moved out of his Mama’s house………….how qualified is that?

When this candidate did move, he moved into the late Glenn Kilgore’s mansion …..living off Glenn Kilgore’s fortune…….how qualified is that?

This same candidate has never held a job that his mama or daddy didn’t give him……..how qualified is that?

How about someone that’s never raised a family…..never managed a home, never had to budget…….how qualified is that?

Check the facts, Mr. Stiefel, sad to say, but every statement provided here is 100% TRUE.

There is really no comparison to the qualifications of these two candidates, one has DONE the work and the other has only READ IT FROM A TEXTBOOK!  The difference in the qualifications,  one is a kid and one is a man.

By the way, Mr. Stiefel you lied again. I thought you campaigned that you’d be a FULL-TIME Mayor, and here you stated that you would not be working full-time now or in the future?  You seem to have had a change of heart?

Also, maybe you should be reminded that in a local election  there’s no place for distinguishing between a Republican or a Democrat, that’s irrelevant.

And……while we are on this sore topic ….did they actually pay off your campaign debt?  Nice…..

In response to "Old School" (whoever you are) Ashamed of who you are???
You are not as knowledgeable as you think. In fact, you are completely INCORRECT. Your comments are surely intended for SCARE TACTICS for the voters of Rainsville. I have NOT been offered a job at the Agri-Business Center. I have not asked for a job & I have NO intention or desire to take Mike Sweat's job. I do not plan to work full-time now or in the future.
I am, however, still very interested in the future of the City of Rainsville. That is the reason that I endorse Nick Jones for Mayor. I think he is the most qualified choice for Mayor of Rainsville.
I asked the citizens of Rainsville to carefully consider all the qualifications of the candidates. Pray as to who you should vote for & please go vote on Tuesday, Oct. 9. Coersion, threats or promises should not have an effect on your vote.
May God Bless the City of Rainsville.
    D.L Stiefel

When Jones came to my house to campaign for my vote I asked him "What are you going to do to make sure our police are better equipped and trained to handle the rise crimes, especially in violent crimes?" He responded "They have a tazer and a handgun...isn't that enough?" No Sir its not!!!!!!!! Not by a long shot. But thank you for showing you do not have the experience to secure my vote. Shortly there after Rainsville had a couple retail robberies, home invasion robbery, and a shooting. Nick Jone is DEFINATELY NOT getting my vote.

Oh, the joy of small town politics! A crystal ball isn’t necessary, when one knows the inner workings (undercover interactions among the lil “peas in a pod.” )

Here’s the prediction of the hour, you can say you heard it first right here on the evening of October 5, 2012. Here we go, should Nick Jones be elected as Mayor, you can bet your bottom dollar on D.L. Stiefel becoming THE next Director of Rainsville’s Northeast AL Agri-Business Center. Of course, in order for this to happen, the current director, Mr. Mike Sweat must first be relieved of his duties! Just so you know…… a little plan has been in the works for some time now. The timeline of events leading up to this becoming reality include: 1.) A few months back, Jamey Jones (that would be Nick’s daddy) had a huge fall out with Mr. Sweat . It seems that the powerful Jones family, couldn’t quite bulldoze their way through Mr. Sweat , so they came to disapprove of his professional way of doing business. 2.) The next turn of events came the evening of August 28, after Mr. D.L. Stiefel didn’t quite make it out of the gate in his quest to be Rainsville’s next mayor. Along about that time, a little backroom scheme was devised, as a nice consolation prize for the honorable Mr. D.L. Stiefel. For his endorsement of Jones, (if elected) Stiefel will be nicely rewarded for all his hard work and dedication to the Jones camp! Yes, you heard it here, as soon as things can get underway and moving along, Mr. D.L. Stiefel, will become the NEW Director of the Agri-Business Center.

Please allow me to end with a Stiefel quote, ““We campaigned on the same issues,” Stiefel said. “He’s always been very honest and upfront, and I appreciate his honesty. He has a plan and a way to implement that plan.” Well, well now, do tell Mr. Stiefel, indeed Mr. Jamey Jones and Mr. Nick Jones, do have a plan and they certainly have a way to implement that plan. I just wanted to be HONEST AND UPFRONT and I know the voters do appreciate HONESTY, so now we know….and you know what they say, “Inquiring minds do want to know!”

Good luck, Rainsville as you determine the “PLAN” for the next four years! Thank you for the opportunity to reveal these sound principles of accountability and transparency that Mr. Jones is said to embody.
