William T. "Bill" Kellett, 85, of Shreveport, La., and formerly of Whiton, joined his Creator early on Sunday morning, July 10, 2011, after a long illness.
His body has been donated to science, at his request.
A memorial service and celebration of his life was held on Saturday, July 16, at 11 a.m. at the sanctuary of the North Highlands United Methodist Church, at 825 Poleman Road, in Shreveport. The Rev. Michael G. Miller officiated. A reception and meal were held afterward in the Celebration Center.
Bill was born in 1926 in Whiton to Morgan and Julia Kellett. After completing his service in the U.S. Navy, Bill and his family moved to Shreve-port. They were longtime members of the North Highlands United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Joe Kellett.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Betty Kellett; son, Steven Kellett; brother, Franklin Kellett and his wife, Dorothy Kellett; and nephews, Morgan Kellett and Ed Kellett.
Following cremation, future interment will be at the Whiton Cemetery.
