Leland Russell “Rusty” Bearden, 49 of Fort Payne, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at Huntsville Hospital.

He is survived by his wife, Tamera Bearden; son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Nikki Bearden; and grandson Clayton Russell Bearden; sisters, Melessa and Bobby Talley and Mahala and Terry Neeley; nieces and nephews Jason and Jennifer Talley and their children Gwyneth Ann and Lawson, Joseph and Tracy Talley and their children Austin, Grayson, and Carson , and Nicole (Neeley) and Jason Hutton and their son Robert Cruz Hutton; uncles and aunts Troy and Ernestine Poe, Jerry and Joyce Poe, Wilburn and Madelyn Poe, Pat and John Keefe, and Jimmie Nell Thomas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Codeen Bearden, grandparents Oscar and Geneva Poe and Aaron and Tempie Lee Bearden.

He was a dedicated employee at Prewett Mills Distribution Center for 22 years and a member of First Baptist Church, Fort Payne. He also leaves behind numerous beloved friends and acquaintances, as well as special cousins and hunting and fishing companions Lance Poe, Landy Poe, and Anthony Poe.

Rusty never met a stranger and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of Alabama Football, hunting and fishing. But, his favorite past time was being Paw Paw to his grandson Clay.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 7 at 2 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Pat McFadden and Bro. John Keefe officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery.
