Josh Clayton was too young to play football when he began attending Sylvania School, but with his father, Alan, serving as an assistant coach, the younger Clayton often visited practice.

“All he did was hang around [future Auburn punter] Patrick Tatum and field his kicks, and he decided that’s what he wanted to do,” said Alan Clayton, who was later promoted to head coach.
