Meth labs, guns, child found in home
Published December 4, 2009
Three DeKalb County residents were arrested Thursday night and charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.
Floyd Junius Bailey, 26 of Fort Payne; Jason Lee Loudermilk, 23 of Sylvania; and Haley Michelle Morton, 27 of Henagar were charged with second-degree unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris said the three were arrested after Drug Task Force agents and sheriff’s deputies discovered five meth labs inside Bailey’s home on County Road 589 in the High Point community.
Harris said a small child was found at the home, allegedly near the drugs and paraphernalia. He said workers with the Department of Human Resources placed the child with a family member.
In addition to the meth labs, law enforcement also found a small amount of meth, syringes and items commonly used in the manufacture of meth, Harris said. He said two.22-caliber pistols were also confiscated, one from Bailey’s person and another from his vehicle.
