Florida, Alabama still Nos. 1, 2 in BCS

Published November 30, 2009

Florida’s blowout victory over Florida State and Alabama’s dramatic Iron Bowl win over Auburn did nothing to alter the top two spots in the latest Bowl Championship Series rankings.

The Gators maintained their hold on the No. 1 spot, while the Crimson Tide stayed at No. 2. The teams will meet in the SEC championship game Saturday, with the winner likely advancing to the BCS championship game.

The Harris Interactive and USA Today Coaches polls make up one-third of the BCS formula apiece, while the average of six computer rankings accounts for the rest.

Florida and Alabama are tied for No. 1 in computer average. Florida is No. 1 in both polls, while Alabama is No. 3 in both.

Texas is No. 2 in both polls, No. 4 in the computers and No. 3 overall.
