Orville Edward Cassid

Orville Edward Cassidy, lifetime resident of DeKalb County, passed away at his home Thursday, November 26, 2009, at the age of 99.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Avis Hopper Cassidy; his parents Junius and Josephine Cassidy; great-granddaughter Virginia Hopper Wolsfelt; and two brothers and four sisters.He is survived by his two daughters, Nickie Odom (Jimmy), of Charleston, S.C., and June Rotch, of Birmingham, Ala; five grandchildren, Shana Myer (Mike), of Charleston, S.C., Heath Odom (Kim), of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Jimmy Lane Odom (Jeanette), of Greenville, S.C., Jamison Rotch (Dottie), of Nashville, Tenn., Susannah Wolsfelt (Russell), of Birmingham, Ala.; and 11 great-grandchildren.A celebration of his life was held on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Gault Avenue Baptist Church in Fort Payne, Ala., with the burial to follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
