DIXIE BASEBALL REPORT: Fort Payne wins

Ethan Barnes had two singles recently as Fort Payne downed Cherokee County 5-4 in a 17-18-year-old Dixie baseball game at Fort Payne.

The game was Fort Payne’s league opener.

Jake Johnson was the winning pitcher. Cole O’Neal doubled, and Kyle Crabtree singled.

The Fort Payne team includes current and former members of the Fort Payne High School varsity club. Several players from the Fort Payne junior varsity are participating in a 15-16 league, and several players from the middle school team are competing in a 13-14 league.

Dakota Langston tripled and singled for Fort Payne.

Cheston Green closed with two singles for the winning squad, and Caleb Wallace added a triple. Teammate Spencer Reed singled.

Chance Mancuso was the winning pitcher.

13-14 league

Scottsboro Renegades 3

Matt Chisenhall had a big game for Fort Payne. He had two singles and was the winning pitcher.

Jacob Crowe tripled for the winning squad, and Cameron Womack added two singles.

Jordan Terry closed with a double and two singles for Fort Payne.

Zack Magnusson, Chandler Kramer and Ian Richards added two singles apiece. Tyler Fraebel was the winning pitcher.
