Woman rescued after falling at High Falls

The woman's name and condition was not released by officials as of Monday afternoon.

An Albertville woman fell at High Falls Park located in Grove Oak, Alabama this past Sunday.

High Falls Park Board member Wayne Wilson said the woman slipped and fell while walking on the arch and was transported via helicopter to the hospital.

Wilson said from what he understood, the victim injured her back from the fall.

According to officials, several departments responded to the scene, including many first responders and the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.

“Grove Oak Fire, Geraldine Rescue, and Fisher Rescue were very quick to respond,” Wilson said.

Wilson encourages visitors to use caution, common sense and be very careful while they are on the edge of the falls and rocks.
