As we approach Thanksgiving, I would like to thank those who support the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce through sponsorships.

In October, we held our annual Mayor’s Cup Golf Tournament at Terrapin Hills Country Club. It was such a beautiful day, and the players had a great time. The purpose of any chamber fundraiser is to raise funds for new initiatives and programs. Without the support of our community and local businesses we could not provide necessary services for our business community.

This year’s Gold Sponsors for the Mayor’s Cup were: DeKalb-Cherokee Counties Gas District (DC Gas), Twin City Used Car Sales and Wiregrass Construction Company. Thank you!

DC Gas is a natural gas supplier in DeKalb and Cherokee counties providing a dependable, economical and reliable product. They also provide appliances and are happy to speak with you about becoming a customer. To learn more about DC Gas, visit them online at www.dcgas.org.

Twin City Used Car Sales has supported the Chamber for many years. Twin City provides the Chamber car as well as supporting us throughout the year during our fundraisers. Thank you, Bobby Ledbetter and staff, for always being such a great supporter of Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce. To learn more about Twin City Used Car Sales, visit www.twincityusedcars.com.

Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc. (WCC) is an industry leader in asphalt manufacturing and construction with offices and high-capacity asphalt plants strategically located throughout Alabama, and they have a state-of-the-art aggregate operation located in central Alabama. For more information about WCC, visit www.wiregrassconstruction.com.

Silver Sponsors for the Mayor’s Cup were: Coca-Cola Bottling Company United, First Fidelity Bank,

Fort Payne Improvement Authority, Nucor/Vulcraft Group, Vulcan Materials. Coca-Cola Bottling Company also provided all our drinks for the tournament. Thank you, Michael Farmer.

Bronze Sponsors for the Mayor’s Cup were: Buffalo Rock/Pepsi Cola, Farmers Telecommunications Cooperative, First State Bank, GH Metal Solutions, Greenhill Engineering Consultants, Lambert, Inc.

MDA Professionals Group, and WinSouth Credit Union.

One initiative we are working on at the chamber is a new member geared website. We hope to roll out a new website early next year, and will provide more information about the benefits as the project reaches completion.

The chamber is still accepting applications for this year’s Fort Payne Christmas Parade on Dec. 8, with Grand Marshal James Dean (Author, Pete the Cat). Many thanks to the Cody Coffey Agencies for their support and sponsorship of the parade. Applications may be picked up at The Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce, 300 Gault Ave. N or at The Coffey Agencies at 1000 Gault Ave. S Suite A. Follow us on Facebook for updates on chamber member happenings around town. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
