A Collinsville man is in the Albertville City Jail after he head-butted an Albertville police officer.
Albertville Police Chief Jamie Smith said officers were called to a disturbance at a poultry plant and began an investigation. Smith said officers detained Moises Felix, 29, of Collinsville. He had a 9mm pistol in his possession and no permit.
Smith said the officers arrested Felix for carrying a pistol without a permit. Smith said Felix was handcuffed and when officers attempted to place him in a patrol car he became combative and head-butted one of the officers. Officers placed him in the patrol car and transported him to the Albertville City Jail without further incident where he was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit, obstructing governmental operations and second-degree assault, a felony.
Smith said the officer didn’t require medical treatment.
Felix has been transferred to the Marshall County Jail under a $2,500 bond.
