Well, I have my first Christmas Parade under my belt. It was everything I was told it would be, mostly lots of fun. I had some “WOW!” moments, and I hope you did too! I am compelled to recognize some amazing people who helped make this parade such a fun event.

James Dean ‘Pete the Cat’ was scheduled to be our Grand Marshal, however due to inclement weather, the parade was rescheduled and ‘Pete the Cat’ stood in for James. We did hold a book signing on Dec. 5 with James Dean, and had a great showing. For those who missed the book signing, James Dean plans on returning in the spring to visit Fort Payne City Schools and hopefully hold another book signing.

Coffey Agencies, Inc. sponsored the parade this year, and what giving hearts Cody and Jessica have. Cody is an Allstate Agent who recognizes the importance of giving back to the community. Having just met Cody in November, he and Jessica jumped on board as a huge supporter of the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce. They not only sponsored the parade, but also helped us with a new logo for the Chamber of Commerce.

Coffey Agencies has five locations across Alabama and Georgia. Cody and his wife Jessica also own and operate a direct mail marketing business with a focus on bulk mailouts for businesses. If you are shopping insurance or thinking about a targeted bulk mailout, please give them a call, you will not be disappointed. You can reach Cody or Jessica at 256.845.3637, or visit them online at www.coffeyagencies.com. Thank you, Cody and Jessica for your Chamber Membership, and for supporting us, we really appreciate you.

Twin City Used Cars—Bobby Ledbetter, you are awesome! Bobby allows me to drive a car from Twin City on a daily basis, and is always willing to help the Chamber with anything we ask of him. We built our Pete the Cat float in one of Twin City’s warehouses, and Twin City provided the car and drove the Grand Marshal, ‘Pete the Cat’, in the parade. Bobby is such a positive upbeat person, and very involved in supporting the Fort Payne community. If you are looking for a vehicle of any kind, trust me he can find it. Please visit Twin City Used Cars at www.twincityusedcars.com, or give them a call at 866.906.8151.

Thank you, Fort Payne, for coming out in the cold weather and participating in the parade. I encourage everyone to support the Fort Payne community in some way, just as Cody, Jessica, and Bobby do. Make a difference in your community!
