Man given additional charges

Shane Lee Henegar

New charges were filed on Shane Lee Henegar, 47, of Fort Payne Wednesday. Henegar is currently in the DeKalb County Detention Center on charges he was unable to make bond for in 2018.

Fort Payne Police Chief Randy Bynum said the new charges on Henegar came from a case that was originally reported a year ago.

“Those charges were robbery first, sexual abuse first, breaking and entering a vehicle and theft,” he said. “Bond on those charges was $305.00. New charges for Henegar stem from a case that was originally reported to another agency in April 2018.”

According to Bynum, Fort Payne Police detectives Andy Hairston and Mike Grant charged Henagar for attempted sodomy first and attempted rape first. Bynum said the bond is being set at $1,000,000 for these new charges.
