• Approved the April 2019, financial statements and bank reconciliation reports, as submitted. 


• Superintendent Jim Cunningham’s Report: Cunningham congratulated Harrison Davis on becoming the individual 2019 6A State Champion for Golf, and Dawson Garrett for finishing third overall.
Mr. Cunningham announced the FPHS Boys Soccer Team played Friday, May tenth at 11am at John Hunt Park in Huntsville against Homewood in the semifinal game. Winning 2-0. The team lost 3-2 on Saturday against St. Paul Episcopal in the Championship game. He congratulated the Coaches and players on a great season. Mr. Cunningham expressed congratulations to the FPHS Track Team for their outstanding performance at the State Track Meet this past weekend in Gulf Shores. The girls team had a strong showing finishing 3rd overall behind powerhouse Homewood and Pelham. Several girls placed Top 3 in the State and got on the podium. The 4x800 team of Gracie Groat, Maddie Jackson, Mollie Sanderson, and Anahi Barboza placed 2nd and missed breaking the school record by less than a second. The 4x400 team of Madi Wallace, Maddie Jackson, Maggie Groat, and Logan Neil placed 2nd with a time of 4:10. Madi Wallace placed 2nd in the 300 hurdles and set a new school record. Isabelle Goggans placed 3rd in the Javelin and broke the school record. Others scoring points were: Teshyia Williams in the Discus and Aylin Vega in the two mile. For the Boys, Matthew Shaddix placed 4th in the 110 hurdles and second in the 300 hurdles. Nate Crane placed 7th in the Shot Put throwing a distance of 49-6 and narrowly missing the school record. Congratulations to all the athletes on a great season. 
Mr. Cunningham announced the following FFA competitions placed at the North Alabama FFA Eliminations qualifying them for state competitions this summer: Ag Construction - 3rd Place - Allison Cary, Camden Taylor, Will Helmes, Brody Bruce
Ag Mechanics - 3rd Place - Matthew Carry, Pablo Matias Santos, Andrew Burt, Isaac Khan Nursery/Landscape - 3rd place - Avery Payton, Hunter Noles, Dakota Bowling, Zeb Kincer Floriculture - 4th Place - David Allen Fischer, Bryson Lyles, Oscar Gonzalez, Kenzie Akins, Mercy Angel. Cunningham announced the Fort Payne Middle School First Robotics Teams had a great weekend at the Razor Back Invitational at the University of Arkansas. The Gigawatts Team reached the finals in Research and High Voltage Team reached the finals in Presentation. There were 80 teams in the competition. Cunningham reminded everyone that Class Night begins at 7 p.m. in the gym at Fort Payne High School, tonight. Also, Kindergarten graduation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Wills Valley Recreation Center. (9 and 10:30 a.m.)
The Board will meet at 6:30 at the Field House prior to graduation, Thursday, May 23, 2019. 


• The board elected Jimmy Durham to serve as Board President for the 2019-2020 school year, and Randy McClung to serve as Board Vice-President for the 2019-2020 school year. 


• Approved June 27, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Central Office as the date, time and place of the next regular Board Meeting.
