Lights all aglow: Fort Payne Public Works employees begin turning town into winter wonderland

Dustin Christopher of the Fort Payne Street Department installs Christmas decorations on a light pole along Gault Avenue. The blinking snowflakes are among the 156 lights city workers have posted since Monday morning, adding a festive flavor to the season. The Fort Payne Christmas Parade will be Friday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m. with former Superintendent Jim Cunningham as the grand marshal. Applications to participate are available from the Fort Payne Chamber of Commerce.
