Another truck collides with Joe's Truck Stop, spilling lumber

Early Tuesday morning, the driver of this transfer truck from M&A Hill Trucking LLC out of Havelock, N.C. became familiar with the steel and

concrete barrier at the base of Alabama Highway 35

commonly known as "Joe's Truck Stop". The load of

lumber spilled out into the grassy field beyond the barrier and the truck was towed away from the scene by Scrapper's Towing. The cargo is especially valuable

considering the escalating price of construction materials this summer. Further information about the incident or the condition of the driver was not available from the Fort Payne Police Department at press time Tuesday.
