Visiting DeKalb

Chandler Webb, right, a new graduate of Gautier (Mississippi) High School, window shops outside Katherine’s Framing in downtown Fort Payne with his grandmother, Terri Spiers, also of Gautier, and great-aunt, Mickie Dunbar, who is from Las Vegas. Swarms of people at the beach got the Memorial Day weekend headlines, but Webb said he wanted to visit the mountains, so his family drove up from Gulfport, Miss. and stayed at the DeSoto State Park Lodge. Said Spiers, “The town just looked so cute, we wanted to have a look after visiting the canyon. We are going to visit Sand Mountain next.”
