Alabama Highway 117 was closed for several hours on Wednesday from the Flat Rock four-way to the Jackson/DeKalb County line due to a traffic accident involving a commercial vehicle before 10 a.m. central time, according to Flat Rock’s Tri-Community Fire Department. Also responding were the Cartersville Fire, the Jackson County Emergency Management Agency, deputies from the DeKalb and Jackson County Sheriff’s offices and Ider Police. They updated their Facebook page at 5 p.m. to announce the crossing had reopened.
