Chestnut Grove Baptist Church hosts drive-thru Nativity event

Earlier this month Chestnut Grove Baptist Church welcomed visitors to its first ever two-day drive-thru Nativity. Despite the rainy weather, a combined total of 212 vehicles and 621 people visited, including some from out-of-state. The event featured 10 different live scenes for spectators to enjoy, recorded music by Chestnut Grove Baptist Church's own Praise Band and a performance to ‘Mary did you know?’ by the church’s Shadow Drama group. Visitors poured in well into the evening of the second night's performance to experience all aspects of the Nativity from the comfort of their vehicles.

“The work melted into blessings as we experienced such an outpouring of support from our community and area,” said Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Pastor Steve Lea.

“We appreciated each visit, contribution, prayer and encouraging word.” Nativity Coordinator Branda Taylor said they have begun making plans for next year's Nativity.
