NACC immortalizes pair with sculpture unveiling

Trouper the Mustang and Roscoe the dog pose beside a bronze sculpture unveiled Thursday on the campus of Northeast Alabama Community College. The statue took a year to create and was funded from a portion of soft drink machine sales, according to NACC President David Campbell, joined by Heather Rice, Barbara Kilgore and Katie Mae Adams.

For those of us viewing this lovely picture and seeing this incredibly beautiful statue for the first time, it would be nice to know the background story. What is the significance of this statue? Who are Trouper and Roscoe and what is their relationship to NACC?
