Norma Jean Hammond

Norma Jean Hammond, 82, a longtime resident of Gadsden, Alabama departed this life on July 30, 2021 at her home, with family by her side.

Jean was the youngest of four children born to Arnold and Alice Hammond on March 27, 1939 in DeKalb County. 

After graduating from Fort Payne High School, she went on to earn an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and a graduate degree from Auburn University. 

Highlights of Jean’s professional achievements include pioneering automated production elements at Goodyear and developing robotics warehousing facilities at Federal Mogul Corporation. Jean’s loved ones, though, will remember her most for living life to the fullest.

Jean is survived by her brother Mr. Arnold Hammond of Chattanooga, Tennessee and her sister Mrs. Barbara Shankles of Fort Payne, Alabama. 

She is preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Alice Hammond, her brother Donald Hammond, and her husband Charles Bobo.

Services will be decided by her family at a later time.
