Editor,

In Saturday’s —2-24— edition of your paper, you requested feedback concerning the ownership of guns at schools, and certain qualified personnel for being armed during school sessions.

Personally, I think that’s a very good idea. Not only for schools, but for hospitals and nursing homes also.

It’s a matter of time before they are attacked.

Waiting for law enforcement to respond will be too late.

Automatic weapons should not be available to the public, only pistols and rifles. Assault weapons should be for police and soldiers, only.

Mentally impaired people shouldn’t have weapons at all. They need available treatment.

Capital punishment should definitely be enforced and carried out after guilt has been established. It should not be a dragged out process.

I have written the attorney general — Jeff Sessions — on this matter. Everyone has the right to defend themselves. Personally, I’m outraged and angry about what’s going on in our nation. Any man who does not provide for and defend his family is a poor excuse for a man.
