Youth soccer

Cooper Buffington and Adrian Vega fight for possession in Monday’s youth soccer game at the Fort Payne Sports Complex.

The Fort Payne youth soccer league kicked off its fall soccer season Monday.

Teams play at the Fort Payne Sports Complex every Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The league is run by the Fort Payne Futbol Club, and they have 55 teams who play one game each week. Games are at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. on each of the designated nights.

The games pictured above is from the girls U6 league and the boys U6 league.

In the girls game Chris Roberts School of Music defeated the Times-Journal Unicorns, 2-0. Macy Jones scored one goal and the other was an own goal by the Unicorns.

In the boys game, Howard Bentley Buick GMC defeated the Roc Learning Center, 4-0. Adrian Vega pulled off a hat trick and scored three goals in the win. Josh Corona scored the other goal.
