Auburn’s Cinderella run at the SEC basketball tournament continues.
The 13th seeded Tigers pulled off their third upset of the tournament with a 73-70 win against LSU Friday.
“All I can say is the first one was for the fans, the second one was for the players and this one was for the program,” said Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl after the game.
Auburn trailed LSU by three as the final seconds in the game ticked away, but KT Harrell knocked down a buzzer beater to send the game into overtime.
Auburn took the lead in overtime and held on to advance to the semifinals for the first time since 1985.
Harrell led Auburn with 29 points, which was a career high.
The Tigers will now face the top-ranked Kentucky Wildcats Saturday
