NABA U-10 team wins two-straight tournaments

The North Alabama Baseball Academy 10-U Nationals won their second-straight tournament last weekend at the Baseball Player’s Association Alabama State Tournament.

The team went 3-1 in the tournament to clinch the 10-U Silver Division Championship.

The Nationals are made up of players from DeKalb, Jackson and Marshall counties. They have placed each of their last three tournaments.

On May 21, the Nationals finished as runner-up in the gold division of the Grand Slam Classic Tournament in Scottsboro. Kobe Hill, Austin Anderson, Trenton Rowell and Andrew Carroll were named to the All-Tournament Team.

On May 28, the team clinched the USSSA Memorial Day Classic 10A Championship by beating the Cullman Cats 10-9 and the Shoals Outlaws 17-4. Anderson, Parker Manning and Nick Jernagin made the All-Tournament Team and Carroll was named Tournament MVP.

The Nationals are 5-2 in their last seven games against teams in their division. They will go for a third straight tournament championship this weekend at the USSSA A-Division World Series in Gadsden.
