Kareem Canty had a game-high 21 points and had a career-high eight rebounds for the second straight time as Auburn fell to Oklahoma State 74-63 Saturday in Auburn Arena in the Big 12/SEC Challenge. Freshman Horace Spencer added a career-high 11 rebounds and six blocks to go with six points.
The Tigers shot only 29 percent from the floor and 20.7 percent from 3-point range, while missing all 12 second half 3-point attempts.
Tyler Harris recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds while TJ Lang added eight points and three steals.
The Cowboys jumped out to 10-2 lead and took its largest lead of the game at 31-17 lead with 6:44 play in the opening half with five 3-pointers. Lang hit a pair of 3-pointers to spark a 12-0 run to bring the Tigers back to within 31-29 with 2:48 remaining.
Oklahoma State then went on a 9-2 run to close out the half and take a 40-31 lead into the locker room.
Oklahoma State pushed its lead back to 14 at 51-37 just over five minutes into the second half. The Tigers cut it to 57-52 with less than seven minutes to play, but that is as close as Auburn would get.
Auburn fell to 9-11, 3-5 in SEC play while Oklahoma State improved to 11-10, 2-6 Big 12, in front of 8,867.
