The Fort Payne Futbol Club U10 boys team wraps up their season next week with a trip to the 34th annual Alabama State Games in Dothan.
Coach Michael Farmer said the team has been dominant all season.
“We’ve really stepped up our level of play this year,” Farmer said. “The team has only lost one game all season. That came in the Huntsville tournament and we were able to come back and beat that same team to win the tournament.”
The recreational travel team travels to Dothan this weekend for their final tournament of the season.
Friday is the Alabama State Games Fan Fair. Gates open at 3 p.m. at the National Peanut Festival Fair Grounds. There will food and product vendors, fun activities, t-shirt pickup and more. The opening ceremony will begin at 7 p.m. and is free to attend.
Competitions will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday where the Fort Payne Futbol Club will compete for another tournament title.
Farmer said he is confident his team will be tough to beat.
“With the way we’ve been able to play this year, we’re going to be a tough out,” Farmer said. “I’m pretty confident that we can play with anyone and I think we’ve got a good chance to win some games in Dothan.”
